Hi, I read your post and I think that you are referring to the miter gauge not going past 90 deg on one side. If this is correct that when you loosen the lock knob and the protractor head will not move to one side then you will have to check the stop pin in the head of the miter gauge. There is a pi...

Caleb; To get close to the correct belt size do this Measure the circumference of each pully. That would be Pi (3.14) times the diameter of the pully and divide by two. This will yield a number which is half of the circumference. Do this for both pullies and record the numbers. Then measure the dist...

Hi;
I would try to use the same diameter screw as the other two but back up the one in the broken area with a flat washer, lock washer and a nut. A drop of blue loctite would also help hold the screw. Don't know if this will last a lifetime but there appears to be enough meat there to hold ok.

Hi; The router guide bushings should not show any signs of wear. Signs of wear would indicate improper use. The router bit should never come in contact with the bushing. The retaining collar will tighten against the bushing and hold it in the router plate with just finger pressure. If you have a rou...

Hi; Try this. First unplug the machine and then remove the belt cover. Then grab the sheave that is behind the spring and pull it forward and try to loosen the belt. If the belt has become wedged in the drive system sometimes releasing the tension may cause the machne to run ok. If this does not wor...

router table insert plate
Hi Gang I just got my new issue of Wood Mag and there is an article on a router table that I found interesting. The insert plate that they specified was listed as a $34.00 item. Well I looked at the pictures and my router table insert and found that they were identical. However mine only cost $19.99...

Hi; I have had a similar problem with the quill on my 83 machine. Mine would hang up after drilling about 20 holes. I traced the problem to some built up dirt and one piece of metal shaving (don't know where it came from) that would jam the spring and limit movement. Make sure that the spring housin...
