I have the later model, which is manufactured by Campbell-Hausfeld. So, you can still get parts for it. The package included a portable air tank.

I've enjoyed having it. I just finished making a wood cradle to hold the portable air tank. I then mounted it to the ceiling.

Yes, this is a shopsmith jigsaw and it will work on your 510. It uses an oil bath. You use a light weight oil in this bath. I use sewing machine oil. The only parts I have had to replace is the oil gasket. And, I was able to puchase the gasket directly from Shopsmith. I enjoy my jigsaw. Especially, ...

I recently took a class from David Marks at the Woodcraft Store in Boise. Mr. Marks used to have a woodworking program on HGTV. The class was on resawing on an oversized bandsaw. It was a great class and I learned a lot tricks. The bandsaw manual is great. But, there are times when hands on training...

Great work! Have you considered building the stacking featherboard jig that Nick Engler used in one of his presentations on Hands On? Nick included the plans for it.

Guide Block Grinding Fixture

On Page 46 of the Bandsaw Manual is a fixture for grinding the bandsaw guide blocks. The total width of the fixture is 2 7/8". But, when I add up the dimensions ie, 1/4" slot, 7/8" on one side of the slot and 1 5/16" on the other side of the slot, I come up with 2 7/16" Has ...

Black Scotch Brite Pad

I recently purchased the Shopsmith Maintenance DVDs by Nick Engler. He recommended using a Black Scotch Brite Pad as a waxing pad on the Shopsmith tables, way tubes, etc. He explained that the pad would clean of the oxidation while applying the wax. I searched various stores and then went online to ...

Bandsaw Tire Cleaner

I just finished attending a class taught by David Marks. He recommended attaching a brush to the inside of the bandsaw case to clean off the lower tire. I have also seen various woodworking tips where the handle of a used toothbrush is heated to bend at a 90 degree angle. The toothbrush was then bol...
