DeWalt Radial Arm Saw vs Shopsmith

Stumpy Nubs latest video talks about how DeWalt marketed the radial arm saw back in the late 40's/early 50's and beyond as the all in one home shop tool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zeg8fHVrJBk It has to be in response to the Magna Engineering Shopsmith that was kicking butt at the time. They ev...

Re: Stop Collars - the accessory I should have bought years ago

Has anyone tried clamping stop collars? I assume they can account for minor discrepancies in diameter, but perhaps I'm mistaken about that. Skip Campbell has used them on the Model 10. I don't see any reason why they would not work on a MK V/5. I have a big one on vertical column of my stand alone ...

Re: Stop Collars - the accessory I should have bought years ago

I would be concerned that "the manual" may be different in different versions. True. I submit that there are multiple solutions that are better than eliminating 501439 from the web site. (Now returns "Nothing found.") If a part in the manual is superseded, it is much better if a...

Re: FORUM LINKS

Well Duh, ADMIN is the one that can fix it. JMO but it seems to me that being able to contact ADMIN directly is the best way to hopefully get a problem fixed. You can discuss all you want on various threads that many times go off the rails vis-a-vis the thread subject. ADMIN has more to do than wade...

Dusty,

Thanks. I didn't know, but my Inbox for PM is perpetually full here so that is a problem for me. No one ever pointed me to the rules for contacting ADMIN here.
Go to your in box and delete the messages..

We used Alodine conversion coating when I worked for the USAF repairing aircraft generators.Hamilton Sunstrand the OEM of many of the generators used the same thing.

Re: Model 10 attachments for sale

There are lots of outlets to sell stuff. Do we really want to open up the forum to an eBay type of selling outlet. All manner of people that have SS stuff to sell that they don't know what they have?

This is a nice friendly quiet place. Heads Up- Bargain 'available' is enough IMO.
