Re: US Government is About to Change Table Saws FOREVER!
There's nothing wrong with people expressing their opinions on the patent system in general or the validity of this specific patent. However, the CPSC is not going to consider any such opinions because the patent system is the law of the land and the CPSC is going to consider the patent to be valid ...

Shopsmith Celebration of Woodworking May 17-18, 2024
Celebration of Woodworking in Dayton at Shopsmith headquarters, May 17-18, 2024.
Registration starts March 4th. I'm happy to see this is happening. My whole family came down with COVID last year so I couldn't go to the last event. Hoping to see you guys there this time.

Re: US Government is About to Change Table Saws FOREVER!
It is surprising how some think SawStop should freely give most of their patents to the public domain. I'd really like to understand their justification for this. Who thinks that? At issue here is SawStop lobbying to make their patented technology required usage in all table saws while not establis...

That statement from SawStop is as meaningless as it can get. Patents are already public and not enforceable after they expire. I now dedicate this post to the public.

Re: Cateract Surgery
I went to a clinic to get it done. They said I'd have to go the hospital and get it done under general anesthesia. Two different opthamologists say I don't need cataract surgery, just glasses. I got glasses that let me read pill bottles but don't help otherwise. My distance vision is still fine, nig...

Re: Im happy I finally signed up
I'll mention another common pattern is a "new user" will reply to a very old thread with a post that is generic and only tenuously related to the topic. And again, once the post has been forgotten it will be edited to insert the spam link With posts like that you can use forum search on a...

Re: Im happy I finally signed up
My wife scans Shopsmith forums on FaceBook for me. To sign up for them they ask a question like "What type of Shopsmith do you have?". I don't remember an exact question she answered, I don't think such a thing should exclude those who are curious, but some kind of question like "Why ...

Re: Returning the E-clip to bandsaw
I've done it. Perhaps the wheel is not all the way onto the shaft or askew so the exposed groove is not wide enough to seat the clip.
Looking at the parts diagram I see the E-clip is seated against a fiber washer, that could also be the problem.
