Re: Overhead Routing with Fence

I do have a shaper fence..havent looked at it yet. Based on the link you sent, would this be the preferable configuration for a shaper fence process?

Re: Overhead Routing with Fence

Thanks Dick - Yes the bit does have a wheel bearing. Of course the wood is too thin for it to be much use unless I tape my piece onto a larger board-which I intend to do. Are you suggesting just running it without any fence or featherboards ? You are right though- I do need to make up a t-nut fence....

Overhead Routing with Fence

Hey all - moving along on my first project and considering using the overhead router mode to roundover some boards. Most of the images in the manuals show a fence setup which places the fence behind the bit with feed from left to right. However-my boards are a bit too wide to setup this way, so I am...

Re: Mark V DVD Collection

I don't have a full set, but i did receive the PowerPro upgrade one and the calibration alignment one. Both are informative, unfortunately the video quality is low so many times I am frustrated that I cant see exaclty what is being pointed out. Have a look at the video quality in the Sawdust session...

Re: 2x4 Rip- but stuck on something

Thank you all - I went down before my coffee to test out the suggestions. Lowering the main table until it kissed the top of the Powerpro did the trick. It gave me about 1/8 to 1/4 more clearance and the board progressed through. I think the kickback pawls (thanks for the vocab!) were stopping the f...

2x4 Rip- but stuck on something

Hey all- working my way thru lesson 2 in the self teaching book :) I am asked to prep a 3/4 x 3 x 30" board. Of course, I dont have one of these..so I figured I would use the "ripping" lesson and downsize a 2x4x30. I ripped down the 4" dimension to 3" without issue. Now, I a...

Re: New owner 2007 SS 510... and intro

After just 2 or 3 days, I get to relinquish the title of "the new guy" woo :) Welcome - I have spent about a week going thru the general calibrations, table adjustments, etc outlined in the manuals and it has really improved my base confidence and terminology understanding in using this co...
