DC3300 taking me back to hundreds of cubic feet per minute

OFF TOPIC, fer sure !!! Sometimes when I run the Shopsmith DC3300, I hear the same "moan" of an old-time V8 engine opening up the carburetor to full capacity. I'm not as old as many here, but a brief trip down memory lane: I found this video. My dad had an *identical* used '71 Chevy van, w...

Re: Making a Lie-Nielsen Plane From Start to Finish

The points about scrap-parts etc. remind me: My Dad many years ago had dealings with a gent in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, which in those days had a Snap-On Tools foundry. This gent's job including taking any defective wrenches to a site where they were buried in concrete!

Yes, those babies are right fine instruments. I had hands on about 5 of them in my shop over the years, but I'm down to one multi-purpose one.

Re: Three-leg high chair / stool

We'll see how it works out for comfort :)

One thing not so easy to see in the pictures, is that the seat does tilt back a tad (per the design). I think that does add a bit of comfort.

Re: Three-leg high chair / stool

And we're pretty much done, letting the oils and waxes air out a bit. Here was the top-layer getting glued on, and the whole thing being checked for height. The clamps weighed more than the stool! IMG_7044.jpeg Here's a closeup of a rung-tenon all wedged and glued. Most satisfyingly, when these were...
