Re: a new thread 9-11 never forget and still asking for the truth
The idea that the Earth revolves around the sun is a theory. The idea that evolution is the engine that has created all species is a theory. The idea that water boils at 100 degrees C is a theory you can test every day but still cannot PROVE it will happen tomorrow. The difference between these theo...

Shopsmith Files
I spend a lot more time on the Facebook Shopsmith User's group. Sorry! The FB main users group has a large files section but its entirely chaotic and not organizable (thanks, FB :( ) So I have created a simple HTML page and stored the files on an available server. This allows me to alphabetize it, o...

Re: a new thread 9-11 never forget and still asking for the truth
This is just a conspiracy theory waiting for more conspirators to make it happen. The WTC fell because the design was radically different from any other building in new York. This was possible because the WTC was built by the Port Authority which created its own building codes for the project! The s...

Re: Aligning 510 main table
I have a "manual" impact driver that is generally successful removing such parts using the correct allen bit. It's one of those you simply hit with a hammer and it turns that force into a turning force. I suggest Kroil, 24 hour wait, followed by a single blow with an impact driver. That al...

Re: Speed Reducer
I removed it from the shopsmith and tried it, it worked fine. Are you saying that when you remove the speed reducer from the shopsmith, you can turn the speed reducer without a problem? If so, I still suspect it's a coupler issue. If the speed reducer CANNOT turn either on or off the Shopsmith, the...

Re: Pat on the back for shopsmith
I believe a similar topic regarding PowerPro headstock locks came up in a previous thread on the forum (link below). It sounds like a plastic spiral piece was added to minimize any risk of PowerPro wiring getting caught around the rod in the headstock lock mechanism. Off topic, but I am middle-aged...

Re: Speed Reducer
I was using the speed reducer to turn an out of round log into a bowl blank, but it wasn't working right in that I couldn't get the log into round. It seemed as if the log was not securely attached to the face plate. I stopped six times to check it and all seemed good. The last time I tried to rest...

Re: Speed Reducer
I got a speed reducer and an increaser used, and do what I normally do - opened them up to look for signs of wear, damage etc. The reducer is a very simple machine, with two belts and a pulley set which accomplish the speed reduction. They are adjustable from the outside for tension. I have no idea ...

Belt for the 555272 motorized scroll saw...
For those of you with motorized Shopsmith scroll saws, I have just recently managed to find a source for belts (Shopsmith's website no longer lists the part, and I did not hear back from Shopsmith about availability, so I ended up searching on my own. Perhaps Shopsmith will get new belts at some poi...

Kroil: http://www.kanolabs.com/ Or you can buy it on Amazon if you want it faster and are willing to pay more :) Almost as good - biodiesel if you can find 100% in your area. Why BIOdiesel? Yes diesel oil penetrates well also(ask anyone who deals with it). Biodiesel has amazing penetrant qualities ...
