Re: Restoring 10ER S/N 83974
This looks beyond great! But I think the title is misleading. "Restoring" implies putting back to original factory condition. I'm certain this 10ER did not look this good when it was new. Proposed new title: "Tricking Out 10ER S/N 83974." Thanks Al for the kind words. I think it...

Re: Restoring 10ER S/N 83974
OK, Dick, I am getting close to the end. The upper saw guard is done and all I need to do is paint the miter gauge head and the miter gauge slot extension and then I will post a few pictures of the completed machine and call it done. They have been primed so I am almost there.

D J Marks Large Turning
I subscribe to D. J Marks' news letter. Some of you may remember him from his show on PBS called Woodworks. I though some of the turners here would enjoy this. In his latest news letter he says he has been invited to demonstrate at the American Association of Woodturners 30th annual symposium to be ...

Re: FYI, computer fix
John, he plays guitar and was some site and clicked on a link to look at some printed sheet music, and it all went to poop after that. Well, you still have to be careful. If he had been running anti virue soft ware ( was he? ) then it should have warned him or prevented him unless he said yes. Mine...

Re: Looking for milling services
I will ask this, just as a devils advocate .... Does the stock have to be cut to 6 inches? Could you cut the stock to 4 or even 3 and get the results you need and do it in house. I know it will make a lot more shiplap joints to do, and cause some "loss" because of more joints, but you hav...

Re: worked on my old 1954 SS mark 5
A few months ago I bought a the 1954 SS Mark 5 with a jig saw and jointer for $10, somebody painted it John Deere green. sold the jig saw because I already had one. Well today I took the head stock apart to check it over. Cut a hole in the back so that I could check the insides easier. Check the co...

Re: FYI, computer fix
My buddy ran one of these on his kidnapped/hostage computer and fixed it. They are free. https://security.symantec.com/nbrt/overview.aspx?lcid=1033 Glad it worked but, I wonder how it happened to begin with? In this day and age one needs to run anti virus and anti malware programs. You should also ...

Re: His Highness Declared Today!!!!
Is there a message??? OR is this just the rant of the day? Yes, there is a message. Mr. Obama is probably the worst president since Carter. Remember the Misery Index under Carter? In the Air Force the highest enlisted rank is Chief Master Sargent. His pay grade is E-9. When you address a Chief Mast...

Re: I'm calling storage a tool, so lets review this tool
Yes I can see this lot arriving at my garage....... Of course I have no place to put them but it would be interesting to see how long before a black SUV or two pulls up and checks all my "ammo". Ed :D :D I have a few here. They are great with a rubber seal. Don't need that many though. :e...

They are a ladies bracelet. They are a solid circle of what ever material they are made of and must be slid over the hand.Bruce wrote:I know what "The Bangles" are (a female rock group), but what is a bangle?
