Re: Shopsmith's new website is up....

What bothers me is how $950,000 covers all of SS assets. I think the previous owners made out well selling their used Shopsmith company for that price. And the new owners did well compared to the typical price of a brand new Shopsmith company ;) lol The real question is whether the used Shopsmith c...

Re: Shopsmith's new website is up....

Did you forget about the 25X sales increase target comment from the interview? ;) One way to increase revenue is to raise prices. Econ 101. I assumed the 25X sales increase target meant 25X more sales not the same number of sales at 25X the price. +1 Econ 102 increasing price too much results in lo...

Re: Lathe tool rest arm cracked

Didn't see the UTR go on sale with the Christmas sales. No funds for it in any case. Woke up this morning thinking about using JB Weld, either liquid or putty type, filling the crack, manufacturing hole, and part of the tool rest mount hole, let it cure, then drill out the tool rest mounting hole a...

Re: Model 10 attachments for sale

There are lots of outlets to sell stuff. Do we really want to open up the forum to an eBay type of selling outlet. All manner of people that have SS stuff to sell that they don't know what they have? This is a nice friendly quiet place. Heads Up- Bargain 'available' is enough IMO. Fair point of vie...

P.S. I agree obsolete parts s/b reasonably permitted.
That's more a theoretical concern than a real one. In any event, it could be handled with the terms of use.

Re: Model 10 attachments for sale

Well intended, but, the sponsor does not approve of using the forum as a trading post. That was reportedly true of the old sponsor, but there's a new sheriff in town. Do we know Mr. Cupps feelings on this issue? Also, while that policy makes sense when the item is one Shopsmith currently sells, it ...
