When attaching to the quill shaft, I wiggle the wrench back and forth while tightening. This finds the flat spot. The rail on the front of the table for the fence is an aluminum extrusion on the Mark VII. It is also used on the right angle extension table. The PO bent up the extrusions on the extension table.
