Pet Peeve
I would be interested to know if anyone has submitted a question to the "Contact Us " portion of the Shopsmith site? I have! I can recall at least four attempts without ever receiving a reply. Their one business day reply is a total lie. I had a question regarding a retro fit item and brok...

Re: Shopsmith Shelix Conversion?
How difficult was the installation? Any details about the process would be very helpful in making the decision to purchase one.

Shopsmith Shelix Conversion?
I watched a number of YouTube videos showing the process of replacing the Dewalt 735 planer knives with the Shelix helical cutter heads. Just wondering if anyone has spent the $700 to upgrade their Shopsmith planer.

Re: Planer Replacement Table
Your statement is a valid one. However I recall they went to a cast iron table because ones like mine were developing cracks. That being the case, they may have made replacements available, possibly with instructions.

Planer Replacement Table
I have one of the original non-Pro Planer's without the cast iron table, that has served me well for the past 20 plus years. Just couldn't pass up the Thanksgiving Turkey Blowout discontinued items sale. Who wouldn't want a new cast iron table for $64, saving $425 off the regular price??? Called CS ...

Re: Joint Matic
I've been asked if the current Joint-Matic listed on ebay is mine. No it is not. I have no reason to compete with the person selling it, seeing there are 27 days remaining. When I list mine after the new year it will include however all the extra accessories that were available for the Joint-Matic.

Joint Matic
I believe forum rules prohibit selling items. I would however like to give my fellow Shopsmith junkies the first chance (before ebay listing) at purchasing my Shopsmith Joint-Matic, after the holidays. I suspect that the “Private Messages” will be the proper mode for information exchange. I have nev...

Re: Lathe Height
Most of us cannot afford another SS, even a 10er. A better solution is to excavate a 6 in. depression in which to stand. I appreciate the humor in this solution, which would actually work. My belief is that if a person is going to spend any amount of time turning wood on a SS he or she needs to add...

Re: Lathe Height
Space for another lathe in my shop does not exist. I upgraded my SS to a Power Pro and would like to use some of the added features when turning. I am getting the impression that serious woodturners look at the SS as a basic lathe for an occasional turning project. I believe the height issue is a ma...
