Very possibly the "nail polish" is Vibra-tite. This is a liquid that is brushed on and dries but stays soft. The screw can be removed and replaced a number of times with no ill effects.

It is safe to use around polycarbonate while loctite 222 and 242 will attack the plastic.

One item that Blaine forgot to mention is that the upgrade is for 2 bearing quills ONLY. This is due to the high speed which it will be capable of.

Yes the SS mount planer can be mounted on the stand. Mine is. I believe pulleys are the only things needing to be changed. As to which unit to use, that is up to you. The Albrecht chuck is probably one of the best you can buy. Not cheap, but worth every penny.
