Okay Gene, that’s just not fair!! I work to follow the plans and directions so it looks like the picture on the front of the plans. You “wing it” and it comes out a masterpiece!! It’s just not fair! Can you tell I’m jealous?!
Very nice!
Be well,
Ben

Re: Mark 7 110 vs 220 performance?
I always run my M7 at 220. I have cut a decent amount of 8/4 hardwoods plus some very hard specialty woods for friends. It breezes through them. The simplest way to have both 110 and 220 is to take a heavy gauge extension cord (I’ve used 14 and 12 gauge), lop off the male end and wire up a plug for ...

Re: Questions for those who have actual paint on your shop walls.
I painted a bunch of 1/2” OSB panels outside first, then started putting them up as interior walls. I had no want for sheet rock. I happened upon a 5 gallon “mistake” at Lowe’s for $24 :D . It’s sort of a very light matte grey when dried. It’s made a big difference with the LED shop lights even thou...

Re: Biscuit Joiner
This has nothing to do with the slots (mine doesn’t have them, too old a model - like me!), however my blade had gotten very dull so I started checking and found that CMT makes one with 8 carbide teeth so ordered and recieved it (via Amazon since I no longer trust the mothership to have supplies on ...

Re: Drill Press Using 2+ in Forstner bits
This may seem like a silly question, but do you have the walnut thoroughly clamped? At that diameter, nearly any wood movement would cause binding even at very slow speeds. We made votive candle holders for a charity project and ended up using a much smaller bit to nibble at the edges of the hole an...

Re: Prevent or correct tool marks when turning
I generally will make the general design with carbide, then switch to a skew chisel (prefer an oval) for exterior work. For interior I do like a long three bevel bowl chisel (lots of videos on how to make this grind), but more often will just use a carbide cup bit (aka a shear cutter) At $15 they ar...

Re: Portable Sawmill advise
A few years back a friend’s son in law bought a Logsol brand. It uses a chainsaw and the frame work is aluminum (or I thought it was). The family had 20 acres of timbered land mostly larch and fir. The idea was to fell the trees, cut what they needed to construct a house and then offer to do the sam...

Ballpark costs of belt sander repair?
Received the ad for the 20% off repair. I bought my latest belt sander used and have always been a bit frustrated with the tension wheel not working like my new one had (sold the first one decades back). For those of you have paid to have their belt sander refurbed by the mother ship, what were your...

Re: Turning a pedestal
Paul, I’m a bit curious to the glue you will be using, specifically the ebony. I’ve only been able to get an epoxy to hold together ebony in larger pieces especial with seam edges where the grain is not flowing the same way. I built a lazy Susan for a friend’s daughter using a wagon wheel / spoke de...
