FWIW it is 'mentioned'(albeit very briefly) in all 5 versions of PTWFE that I have. The 510 fence went back to a single screw, but that second screw made it into the bandsaw and 500 upgrade(I think) fences. Thanks for the reply...that is helpful information. You are correct the second screw is in t...

jpg; OK, that makes sense. I can see that spreading the stress over a wider area is preferable to concentrating it on a couple of points in terms of a general principle. But I am talking about swinging the fence extremely small distances with the screws, so not a lot of force is involved. Still, I g...

I know the screws on the left and right side of the base should not be used for alignment, but I was unable to do so without them. The base had a pivot point in the middle of it and would wobble. Without using those set scr...

It does not require an item from the catalog, but the code must be entered into the promo code box at checkout to receive it. this is good to know...the mailer reminded me that I have been promising myself the speed reducer for quite some time and this might be the right time to make good on that p...

Hi Jon; Thanks for letting the group hear your story. It's great you were able to stay connected with the world of wood through this site as you went through your ordeal. Sawdust is therapeutic indeed! As for your question...if memory serves, I seem to recall that in the instructions with the miter ...

Just thought I would chime in, since this is an operation I have done hudreds of times on my 500. As has been mentioned, feather boards are great for keeping things in positiion as you move from the front of the table to the back of the table, and I don't rip unless I have a vertical and a horizonta...

For those who have not upgraded to a larger table, the front table extention is a must. Yep, I totaly agree. The front table extensions are a must, and two are better than one. I got the rear table for my 500, but the jury is still out on it. Sort of a pita to set up, but does do a nice job of guid...
