Re: Outdoor 10ER vs. Winter

My working 10ER is under a carport. It has been covered since last fall. I have no room in my shed. But I like it that way. No sawdust coating on everything.
Now if it would just warm up I could start turning again.

Re: Informal Poll - Size of your Shop and how many Shopsmiths?

No shop. Shed is 11' 4"x7' 4".
I have 3 10 E/ER Shopsmiths. Two are assembled.
I use a carport for turning.
My shed is full of tools, including a 10E that has been completely restored.
Russ Chapman has been my inspiration and mentor on the 10E restore. Thanks Russ.

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'

Seems like a good deal considering all the original parts still in factory boxes:

Re: NOVA chuck owners get in here...

Are you using a shopsmith as your lathe? Not sure that a 15-1/2" inside diameter works???? As I recall the shopsmith claims 16" but I don't know if even that is true. Anyway Nova has the large cole jaws (12") and adds an extension (6039) that takes it up to 15". So far as I know...

Re: A Great 10ER Score

Congrats! That is indeed a rare accessory. Below is a page from my Dealer's Manual that shows it as a discontinued item. Just as the lower pulley guard is rare so is the 2 step pulley, key switch and the lower saw guard.

Re: Shopsmith 10E Shaper Fence?

The stuff attached to the top looks like the Universal Holddown. But a Shopsmith Universal Holddown has narrower and longer tension bars.

I thought it was a bird feeder. :)
