Several times this past few days when I have tried to log on to this site I get a message from Internet Explorer that it can not display the page and tells me that I may have an internet connect problem. I believe that the outfeed table rests on the tubes that connect the extension tables to the main table. The outfeed table should have brackets on it that have a hole on them through which the table support tubes go.

Hi Fitz; You probably will not be able to use a mandrel witha #2 morse taper because the morse tapered ones are used on standard lathes and the taper goes in the drive of the lathe. SS on the other hand uses their own lathe drive centers which mount on the headstock or the Jacobs drill chuck is used...

Bandsaw question

I just came from a friend's house after checking his SS bandsaw. He had a complaint that it was throwing the blade and that he had not used it for a long time. I corrected the tracking but noticed that the lower wheel did not have a tire on it. There were no indications that there had ever been a ti...

Jim and All;
Now you know the secondary reason for the rubber ring. It also prevents metal to metal contact. If anyone does not have one you should put one on.
A piece of PVC pipe of the proper diameter would also do the trick if the rubber one becomes unavailable.

Shopsmith on QVC

Just wondering if Shopsmith ever tried to get a spot on the QVC channel?
I know that they have a Craftsman tool hour on occasion.

Belt Sander

Hi; Ihave the belt sander and find it a great asset. Outsidew radii can be sanded easily however it is sometimes difficult to set up so you don't sand across grain. The sander can be laid down flat and the table moved to the side rails for additional versatility. Keep the headstock speed down to the...

Can anyone tell me how to find Nick's editorial on plywood?
The links that are posted do not work.

I recently E-Mailed SS and was told that there is ony one instructor (apparently Rick Davis) and that they were not coming anywhere near the East Coast in the foreseeable future. I guess we owners will have to educate ourselves.

Pinky In order to transport several SS Mk V's in the past I removed the legs. Do this as follows; get some saw horses that are slightly taller than the bench (lower) tubes. Only leave the headstock and the table carriage on the way (upper) tubes and lock them in the center. The lift one end of the m...
