Re: shopsmith.com
Hopefully, in the way of clarification: The website is neither down nor inaccessible. If I enter shopsmith.com, the web page comes up. When I begin the quest for information (support/order status) it changes pages. But then, after entering order number and zip, I get a footnote (lower left corner o...

Re: shopsmith.com
I have also had hit and miss luck with both the main Shopsmith website and this forum site for the past few weeks. Most of the time it works, but sometimes the site is clearly down (yes I know how to force a hard refresh on my browsers). Not related to this thread, but another thing to watch out for...

Re: Jessem Clear-Cut TS™ Stock Guides on Shopsmith 520 Fence
Yes, they make it much easier to make long rip cuts alone (although out feed support is still a good idea). The Shopsmith feather boards are nice, but these do away with having to re-adjust the feather boards for repeated rips. Also, does away with the problem when the board you are ripping is too ...

Re: Jessem Clear-Cut TS™ Stock Guides on Shopsmith 520 Fence
Have them and love them! In fact I was using them yesterday. I installed them just as shown in your picture using the shopsmith t-nuts on only the left track of the rip fence. I think you will find it unnecessary to add t-nuts to the right side. Excellent! Good to know. I didn't see them posted bef...

Jessem Clear-Cut TS™ Stock Guides on Shopsmith 520 Fence
I installed the Jessem Clear-Cut guides on my Shopsmith 520 fence this morning and did a test run. It worked great on ripping some 1 1/2" thick cherry that is 6' long. The rollers are canted at 5 degrees so they pull the board into the fence. Pics below are my preliminary mounting, but I need t...

Re: Opening up the Power Pro head
Yeah, I mistyped earlier. I meant to ask "is it possible". I edited my post to correct this. Thanks for catching this Dusty.dusty wrote:RFGuy wrote:poihths wrote:

Re: Opening up the Power Pro head
They gave me no further advice or information. Your mileage may vary. If so, please post it here! As for it being a misunderstanding, the words I put in quotes were directly copied from their email to me. To repeat: "We no longer do repairs unless the headstock is still under the 2 year warran...

Re: Powerpro Competitor
At least one user (Fred Sheldon) already commented on having a PowerPro fail in less than 5 years (link below). Not sure if this was due to the membrane touch pad or the electronics behind it. Membrane touch pads are typically one of two types, either a printed silver ink on a polyester substrate or...

Re: Powerpro Competitor
I finally got to check out a PowerPro at a local demo. I was able to use the controls for a few minutes. I am still not a fan of the membrane touch controls. I know I am still probably in the minority on this one and if I had bought my first Shopsmith today I would have probably not focused on this....

Re: Simple poll for PowerPro owners
Just curious if anyone knows whether you can order a replacement control module or the electronics module for the PowerPro? I did a quick search on Shopsmith's website but could not find any part numbers for them. If someone wanted to buy backup modules (just in case) to have around, is it possible?
