Re: Request Help with Speed Control Issues

I thought I would put my 2 cents in here since I am rebuilding a headstock at this time and happened to look at the post. Just curious about a measurement on th motor sheaves. What is the measurement between the 2 motor sheaves at the out edge of the sheaves when the movable sheave is against the nu...

2010 Power Pro good purchase?

Through some connection I came across an older 510 upgraded to Power Pro in 2010 with several SPTs . Fair price, should I go for it? Wondering about early version of Power Pro.

Re: Telescoping leg top end with notch

Mike, Thanks for the part number. Hope you made it through the quake ok. My nephew from Eagle River got stuck in Anchorage and couldn't get home for a day or two.

Telescoping leg top end with notch

I am looking for the part number for the top end of the telescoping leg 555627 that clamps to the table edge. I already have several legs and thought it might be cheaper if I could just buy the top part with the notch and knob. I called customer service and got a new hire that was unable to locate i...

Re: I'm new here, looking into getting a shopsmith..which one?

Are you wanting to buy used or new. If used take a look at some of the threads on what to look for in a used machine. There are a lot of old ones that need work if you have the time to repair them. The good thing is parts are still available for those older models. I have been using a 510 for thirty...

Re: Overhead Router Table

That is a great find. I sold those like cazy while I was working at the Kansas City Shopsmith store in the early 90's. I wouldn't give mine up for anything. Great for pattern routing of duplicate items. As I recall back then there wasn't much on the market for router tables and Shopsmith was pretty ...

Re: Drum Sander Vacuum Attachment

If I understand what you are asking, you need to have the table orientated for use in the drill press mode to attach the drum sanding insert with dust chute. As for the plastic guard that is screwed on to the cross brace, I cut a "U" shaped notch in the top so the dust chute slides through...

Re: Disk Sanding Question

I have had the velcro system for over 20 years and love it. I do not use the disc sander for sharpening so that has never been an issue. I also store my sanding disc and paper on a pegboard hook all in a small space. I just punch a small hole right in the center of the sand paper disc.

Re: Shopsmith Saw Blades

I recently purchased the Shopsmith thin kerf premium saw blade set with arbors when it was on special a few months ago. I did a lot of comparison with other manufactures, and the design and tooth configuration is most similar to CMT blades. The expansion antivibration laser cuts match the CMT blades...
