Re: V-belt replacement
I might need to set the high speed stop again that is all no biggie. After putting on, and taking off the knob on the the control assembley a hundred times! It must have got changed somehow. As it will run to slow but doesn't seem to run to as fast as it was when I set the high speed stop screw.

Re: V-belt replacement

Lastly new on/off switch. Oh..all new belt cover, motor pan, and motor mount screws. All I can say is who ever design...

Re: V-belt replacement
Take another showing the idler sheave and back towards the rear end of the idler shaft. Should show idler sheave, gilmer pulley/belt and casting with retaining clips. I notice a couple of things(not necessarily related to belt problem). The casting is fractured and apparently a piece is resting on ...

Re: V-belt replacement
Oh yes, of course..some reason my mind went to standard "wire ties". Sorry JPG. That was actually a brilliant suggestion. Sometimes..the simplest things elude me!

Re: V-belt replacement
Hum..that would serve to gather them together but not much in the way of keeping them away from moving parts. The newer model 510 has a retainer clip that seems to screw in along with one of the three speed control assembly screws..thereby pinning the wires to the side and away from afore mentioned ...

Re: V-belt replacement
There is actually a clip that attaches to one of the control quadrant screws. I don't see it on the parts explode. I noticed it on a 1989 machine I just bought. Anyone know the part number?
I could try and "jimmy rig" something, but prefer the OEM item.
Thanks,
Ron

Re: V-belt replacement
Couple of things I noticed, with the parts exposed upon motor removal. The switch wires have been coming in contact with some moving object (rubed through insulation)..I'm guessing Main belt. Is there some diagram, or routing..wire clip, or suggestions? Also since there is no color coding on my mot...
