Screwdriver Kit -- pretty fun project

Hello, I have turned quite a few wood pens in the last year, and recently I tried the new multi-bit screwdriver, specifically this kit: http://www.pennstateind.com/store/PKSDK4.html Mine ended up very close to the one pictured in the link. The kit is marked as 'made in Taiwan', and I thought the qua...

Dusty,

What a saga! It makes me very curious even though my AC motor background is weak. What is left there to cause trouble.... transient bounces in the relay? I have no idea. Wish I had something to add...

What a Nice Thread! Real eye-candy! Pardon me if I missed it stated above, but was there any special restoration technique for the table-height and quill-extension levers (the red-knobbed metal rods)? Seems like a lot of machines show metal finish wear there prior to anywhere else. Thanks,

You can use the Shopsmith Taper Guide and cut those 2/5 and 3/8 tapers all with the same jig, eh? Even more savings!

Thanks for the tickler,

Long Drum Roll..... Ta Da !!!

Hi, Credit for this project goes to the Sand Flee people as well as reible's old posting on "Sand Almost Free." I've been lusting for a Sand Flee but haven't been ready to buy it yet. However... I did just get the 6-inch Drum Sander. I went to work making a miniature Sand-Flee of my own. I...

Good call, Gents,

I have a total of 3 flat discs but only 1 conical disk. I may get more conicals. It bears saying again (I've heard it before), the conical disk is one of the neatest, most value-added gadgets you can get for the Mark V.

Extra holes in headrest / used for ???

Hi, Just thinking aloud on the other topic of the optional Bandsaw eccentrics. I wonder if I might "firm up" the bandsaw out on the diving-board end of these long eccentrics, by fabricating a 3rd leg that goes down to the headrest. The headrest has 2 small holes on either side of the latch...

On the topic of optional large-offset Bandsaw eccentrics

Hello, I am one of those who got the large-offset eccentrics for the bandsaw, and quit using them because of the "diving board" oscillation modes. From responses here, it seems some users had that problem and some did not. I wonder if the bandsaw wheel balance from machine to machine has a...

Hi All, Thanks for commments so far. I used the conical-sander method "pre-emptively" on 4-inch wide pieces since I didn't want to rick tearing out some fine figure on my jointer. Also I wanted the 2 halves of the resaw to be exactly the same thickness for book-matching. I think my main cu...

Excellent summaries above! I will add, regarding ordering stuff at the show -- For myself I am already beyond the point of "addiction" and I order SS items too often. At the owner's weekend I mentally handcuffed myself and tried to just enjoy the classroom and social environment. For the J...
