Drill Bit Angle Question

I have USA drill bits 30-50 years old and sharpen them with a Drill Doctor 750x. These are the instructions: “Most wood and soft metal applications require 118°. Harder materials such as stainless steel and tool steel require 135°. If you are drilling contoured materials (such a car fender), plan on...

Picked this Selfie Stick up for $1 at a thrift store. Put in a small pocket mirror I had and now have a replacement for the aged and flecked mirror Craftsman I bought >50 years ago that didn't have the reach or flexibility as this one. This one extends to 23". Craftsman pic is from ebay - only ...

Re: Going Political

How you say it determines what it means. How it is said cannot be determined in what is written unless - Consider these, the same words in the same order but with a different meaning: I didn't say he beat his wife. i DIDN'T say he beat his wife. i didn't SAY he beat his wife. i didn't say HE beat hi...

Re: Need some help - Not Shopsmith related but HVAC

Got it fixed. Thanks. I installed the previous t-stat according to written directions. It stopped working on cool this summer. I pulled it, all the wires were connected so I just reconnected them to the new t-stat terminals. Cool worked again. I think the previous blue wire connection was to a null ...

Re: Need some help - Not Shopsmith related but HVAC

This is a simple Honeywell T-stat and has no fuse, so far as I know. I'm referring to the 3-amp fuse on the circuit board (control board) on the HVAC. All connections are proper - double-tripple checked. Shown in the photo. You stated, "If the wiring is old and the insulation is starting to bre...

Need some help - Not Shopsmith related but HVAC

Need some help about HVAC This is puzzling. Replaced a faulty thermostat on 9-7. I switched the thermostat from cool to heat last week. No heat. Turned on the fan. No fan. Replaced the fuse, turned on the fan and it ran. Switched to heat and it blew a fuse. Replaced that, pulled the thermostat from ...
