While shopping for hand saws, I see more and more saws, particularly "Japanese" saws that cut only on the back stroke. I'm sure some of you are using these. Is there an advantage to cutting only on the back stroke? How long did it take to get accustomed to it, and to make an accurate cut? ...

Here in PA, a working Mark V that age including all that came with it when it was new, plus a Band saw would sell for about $350. Other areas of the country could be more or possibly less.

I haven't been able to find that on their web site. They list a maximum thickness that will fit in the various Epilog models, but no mention of max depth of cut. I'll ask my son when he gets home.mountainbreeze wrote:That's pretty cool. What is the maximum thickness it can cut through?
