Mark VII side table fix

The Mark VII two-top side table is a nice feature upgrade in that you can use it on the end, as you would on a Mark V, or attach it directly to the main table for cuts up to 14" wide. This cool idea is almost entirely defeated in design, however, because the front clamp on the Mark VII table fe...

Re: Drop in Forum Activity

I imagine part of the reduction in activity is the drift of younger people to different platforms. This forum format is great as far as I'm concerned, but it's definitely old-school.

Re: Bent T-nuts on new product

Okay, well I wrote a note to the mothership about my bent products, I got a return authorization and sent them back. Today the replacements arrived and ... ... wait for it .. they're exactly the same ! Just as bent in just the same way. <sigh> No one bothered to even try putting them into a slot bef...

Scroll saw accessories

I've just acquired a grey 20" scroll saw, and I have a few questions. It came with no mounting posts. I'm thinking I need the 6.5" eccentric posts, is that right? My table has pairs of holes along the back edge that look like they could receive an accessory. I'm wondering what those are fo...

Re: Magna Mark VII headstock replacement

Yes, you can replace a VII with a V, at the cost of some of the functionality of the VII. But also be aware that your VII is repairable.

Re: Shopsmith maxi-clamp system

The system has got me through a few interesting jams. I expect that its utility increases the more one uses it. Beyond its basic utility for gluing up small picture frames and similar, for me it's most useful in clamping odd things down to the workbench using the bench-dog holes. There are obviously...

Bent T-nuts on new product

I bought a fence-mounted featherboard for my 520 from Shopsmith during the recent sale. It looked great in the package and I put it in the featherboard drawer until today, when I had occasion to use it. I was perplexed to find that the T-nuts wouldn't fit into the slots on the fence or the table, st...
