Re: HDPE or Masonite for zero clearance insert?

I have some left over aromatic cedar closet liner. It happens to be the exact thickness needed to make ZCI inserts.

Re: 2022 Federal Income Tax

IRS paid me interest on my late refund the last 2 years in a row as they delayed getting it paid to me. I expect this year to be exactly the same. I haven't figured out the interest rate they pay, but it looks pretty good compared to the banks.

Re: 2022 Federal Income Tax

I filed mine by mail so I should see my small refund by August, but due to the incompetence of the IRS, they have to pay me interest on my refund.
IMAGINE, the government paying me interest.

Re: 2022 Federal Income Tax

We did ours and dropped it in the mail a couple of weeks ago. There were no surprises on our end. It came out like expected.

Resize the pictures on your computer. Operating systems on computers have software to do that. If you are trying to do it on a phone or tablet, you should start by reading the instructions for your device first.

Re: Resawing - cut results - one face smooth, the other face rought

I’ll always run the stock through my thickness planer after a resaw. I’ve found both sides of the cut need it to bring everything into square and smooth the cut surfaces. Same here. Both sides of my resaw cuts are rough so I need to run them through my thickness planer to make them useful. If one s...

Re: Squealing Noise

My 1980 Mark V has "squealed" similarly in the past. Mine turned out to be a shot button bearing in the end of the control sheave. After replacing the bearing, I have tried to oil it more regularly every time I oil by liberally oiling the control sheave while in the drill press position. ...

Re: 510 versus 520

I've never had any problems getting my 510 aligned. I regularly mount the fence on the floating tables with no issues. Whenever I see these discussions arguing small points, I have to wonder if any of these writers ever use their Shopsmith or do they just talk about it. It seems there are a lot of &...

No sun here today, but the trees have a liberal dose of hoarfrost this morning.

Re: Cheap decent tool box

You likely got a great buy there. Sometime ago, around 10-15 years ago I finally decided to buy a rolling tool box for my garage. I went to Menards. This was before they were selling the Performax boxes. I bought whatever their previous brand was. I can't remember the brand name. I would have to run...
