Re: cleaning and preparing tubes for rebuild.

Penetrol isn't a filler but it will stop deep corrosion from getting worse. Wax will fill pits somewhat if you want a smoother surface.

Re: Shopsmith at Workbench Con 2024

Resorting to profanity to get attention belongs in a locker room not on a tee shirt. Shows quite a lack of imagination. IMHO HopefulSSer has it right. It makes a bold statement that this is not longer your father/grandfather's woodworking tool. This may not be an official Shopsmith slogan either, I...

Re: Shopsmith at Workbench Con 2024

Only watched the final segment with the Shopsmith so far. Nick Cupps did a decent job showing the machine. He could be a little smoother in changing over to the table saw mode but his story of buying the company is good for the product image. I like seeing the entire setup with the dust collector to...

Re: Email Notifications

Email notifications have been slow lately. If the app knows you viewed the new posts I don't think it sends out an email. However, somewhere in the queue there's a delay before I receive email notifications so I may get an email after I've viewed a new post.

Re: Greenie Parts replacement help

Post some pictures of the parts so we can accurately identify them. Used parts are available and you don't need the exact main spindle configuration the machine had originally.

It's a fraudulent post. Spam may be nothing but unwanted advertising. This is worse.

Re: Stair railing

You can use one of those stair railings to make a roller stand. Instructions are included in the Self-study course or PTWFE, I forget which.

Re: Dragged out a shopsmith

That seems like a last resort and you've only just begun the process. Since you used the lathe feature, how well were you able to align centers on the headstock and tailstock? I was able to align those to as close to perfect as I could imagine getting when viewed from both the side and from above. ...
