I'll take pics of the bandsaw fence if anyone is interested. Tony Yes please. I am very interested in some detail photos of the band saw fence and also a hands on assessment of whether this homemade design works well. Thanks, Al PS Congrats on getting this one. I've been watching it and was surpris...

I will chime in with my usual comment whenever SawStop talk leads to the whole government-taking-away-my-choice argument. You already don't have any choice when buying new tools in terms of what safety equipment is on the saw. Power Tool Institute, which is just a consortia of the big tool makers, d...

I think hide glue, including the premade Titebond version, may be just the thing. I understand one of the big advantages of hide glue is that it can easily be undone and redone as many times as necessary. Thus if you get a bad glue up, just reactivate the glue, relalign your parts and try again. I a...

The ad says it allows you to use your lower blade guard to collect dust when disc sanding. I already use my lower blade guard to collect dust when disc sanding and just bri...

Thanks for the advice. I will try the penetrating oil. I think I will wait on the heat. I suspect the metal that makes up the quadrant has a lower resistance to heat than the steel roll pin does.

Getting that darn roll pin out of the Pork Chop

I'm trying to do Bill Mayo's pork chop repair trick (Bill generously sent me the bolt, nut and star washers a couple months back). But I cannot for the life of me get the roll pin out. I even bought a properly sized pin punch. The assembly is kind of a cumbersome shape and I can't figure out how to ...

hmmm how would i make one of these insert guide things? I'm worried about table alignment and the shopsmith is my only table saw now... I could use my dad's table saw .. You say you are worried about alignment. I don't think you can/should make Dusty's alignment jig until you are certain your table...

Yes, it is a very professional operation. It is also fair to note that they sell a very expensive line of tools. That said, they can afford to spend a lot of money on their website (their primary mode of advertising, I assume). Unfortunately, they are not a "Made in the USA" operation. I ...
