Yes Nick, this sounds like a great topic. Personally I suspect the epoxy technology has uses almost beyond the imagination. Like last night, I saw the This Old House guys do a window-sill repair that probably saved hundred$ for a budget-constrained client. Some thought-starters for epoxy would be ve...

Ray the hobbyist, Many compliments on your ingenuity and precision work! Please keep us posted on your guitar development. I have pondered doing a guitar from time to time, but I've been somewhat intimidated as of yet. Speaking of guitars, the SS.Forum people might like to know that the Stewart-MacD...

Hi, Just a couple of quick ones. I had a bunch of PVC tubes and joints doing nothing in the basement, so now they're storing my sanding disks! I also made a basic Tissue Box, after seeing some last month in a Toledo Woodcraft store. Lowes' website had some template for an oval opening, but I made a ...

ryanbp01, Incra products may be in my distant future. For what it's worth, I think the Incra Shopsmith miter-sled type stuff differs only in the miter-bar size, as has been stated above. For the TSIII type of "super table saw fence," I would like to do more research. A few weeks ago I saw ...

Not exactly along these lines, but has anyone thought of making a "headless" extra Mark V structure to support the OPR? I wonder if the spare parts in the marketplace would be friendly to that....

Boy, I was sanding some maple pieces that I book-matched (resawing) yesterday. The pieces were quite thin and I found myself thinking that the Sand Flee would be just the ticket for this kind of sanding. I'll be thinking about this....

Ed in Tampa, Just for some comic relief.... I find I can mentally manage my wood projects OK... until the finish steps! Here is a desk I did this past winter (I'm using it right now). It was *supposed* to have a uniform light red glaze on the top. Actually I made an oak desk, put pickling white stai...

Hey All, Today's highlight for me was not the commuting, the office-work, the yard-work, nor the coordinating 2 genius(es) to figure out a mysterious furnace-flue "constipation." The highlight was finding, at the local library Used Book Sale, one of the SS Hands-On books showing this Climb...

Thanks for a super job defending Shopsmith. Having got my system this year, I'm still delighted with it.

Hi Chuck, Thanks for your comments and questions. My techniques included: Outermost roof-arches: I made a cardboard shape template and separately cut 5 pcs of ¾-inch oak stock to that shape on the bandsaw. Then I resawed each one to end up with the necessary 9 thin pieces. Finer smoothing of their p...
