Re: Disappointed in MiterSet

Bought it straight from SS I was very careful when ordering it to make sure I got the SS MiterSet A regular table saw miter gauge will not slide into the slot (tried it!) but the SS gauge has a slight amount of movement. I'll pull out my machinist mics today and measure the slot and the gauge to be ...

Disappointed in MiterSet

Got my MiterSet and went to look it over. When the miter gauge from my SS is inserted in the MiterSet slot there is a small amount of sideway play that will show up in segmented cuttings for bowls. Enough movement so perfect angles can't be set against a hard stop. Additionally, when trying to set a...

Re: Table Saw Accuracy and 5/8" Blades

The one saw blade this SS came with is an old rip blade well worn. Of course large bore.
If I wanted a good blade for the large bore adaptor would a SS blade be as good as any other or are there other options for the large bore saw blades?

Table Saw Accuracy and 5/8" Blades

New to SS and have read the reasoning behind the larger saw blade hole but wondering if anyone has ever really determined IF it makes any difference inaccuracy? Never really had much trouble with 5/8 blades on any of the regular 10" saws I've had over the years but didn't make many segment ring...

Re: GOT MY FIRST SHOPSMITH!

I haven't even looked at the small jointer head yet but I will. It can't be any more "dangerous" than a 3 blade shaper head :-) which I've used for decades without trouble. Just have to respect it! But I don't see any need for it with me with the 4" jointer so easy to use (if it can b...

Re: Disc sander vs Belt Sander

Well I went to reply here but figured what I wrote should really go in an "ADMIN" room posting which I did as I was talking about my newly acquired 510 SS

Trying to decide to keep or sell the NIB belt sander I got with the SS.

GOT MY FIRST SHOPSMITH!

Well I bought a 510 used from ebay for my first SS and it came with 2 discs (unused), belt sander (new in box), conical disc (new in box) , 3" drum unit, band saw, jointer (all virtually new), all the tables and legs minus the knuckles, biscuit cutter ( NIB), router attachments and bits (NIB), ...

Disc sander vs Belt Sander

Is there any need for both?

If you had only one which one would it be?
