Can anyone tell me what, if any, the differences, besides the color, are between the new Mark V mount scroll saw and the older grey one? Are they significant?

I don't know that you have to use Kreg screws. There are several places that sell pocket hole screws McFeely's is one. Here is their link

Sawdust Session SS113 shows how to align the tables. Nick is doing this on a 520 set-up, but the same priciples apply to your 510.
