This entire thread is highly informative. I will just mention that my first Shopsmith WW project in 2007 used horizontal boring and dowels to help glue up a wide desktop I made. I believe it was 2009 and somehow a blizzard called off my work one day, but I still got the Buick over to a guy's place to pick up a Craigslist jewel !!

Unfortunately I can't make it either Friday or Saturday.
Interesting aside: Gerstner corp. is also in Dayton, and is also having a Gerstner fest on Friday Oct. 6.

Wow! Yes, that's super!!!

I still remember in 2008, one day I took the afternoon off to go buy a few boards of walnut from a guy in the next town. It was probably 7-8 straight grain boards, and one *whopper* plank of crotch grain . I'm curious now what I did with that board...

While I thought my 2022 Covid case was minor, as it turns out I've had long term daily headaches for 5 months continuously this year. Most factors have been ruled out other than the virus itself.
