Re: WHERE Y'ALL AT???
I'll admit that I have used a bookmark for the forum for years, so whenever I begin to type the url I hit enter the moment the address if auto-populated, and since the site was updated the link returns an error. I always think "Oh yeah, that's right" then I click the link at the bottom of ...

Re: Hoping to clear up a misperception
I've always appreciated his insights. And yes, it's Nick Cupps, who never presented himself a Shopsmith's savior.

Re: Sawsmith 2000 table saw video
The wandering of the blades only happens when the blade height travel reaches the two extremes. The blade tracks accurately in use. I probably need to address that in the follow-up video. Re: Sawsmith 2000 table saw video
Sorry to be a bit nitpicky but the Model 10E not the 10ER was introduced by Magna Engineering in 1947. Just trying to keep the Shopsmith history straight. You are so right about the 10E, and though I know better I always say it wrong unless I’m really thinking about it. I can’t even explain why! No...

Shopsmith Inc's SawSmith 2000 table saw video
I posted a video this morning introducing the Sawsmith 2000 to my Youtube channel viewers, and talked a bit about the history of sliding saw blade (AKA Push-pull table saw), and sharing some insights from my experience selling them for Shopsmith, using them in the Dayton Academy, and owning one myse...

Did you hear anything about the 2X4 contest? Scott mentioned it on My Growth Rings, my wife found it on FaceBook, don't know if they've reported it anywhere else. Ed, the contest is being conducted by the Facebook group, so it's unlikely that you'll hear about it anywhere else. Join the group and g...

Re: The Shopsmith X-6000 prototype
very disappointing as a customer to hear that there was a better bandsaw, one better suited for resawing that was scrapped as well. Don't assume that "New" means "Better". A better assumption would be that there were issues with the prototype bandsaw that made it unsuitable for ...

Re: The Shopsmith X-6000 prototype
A tilting blade multi-purpose tool was patented years ago. Don't know if it ever came to market, but it also featured double-tilt, just like the modern Mark 7.

The Shopsmith X-6000 prototype
I recently posted a video about the Shopsmith prototype X-6000 machine on the MyGrowthRings Youtube channel. This machine was on display at the recent 75th anniversary get-together at the factory. A few of us have been chatting about it in another thread, and I think it deserves it’s own thread here...

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Shopsmith, Inc. Has A New Owner
A new design could add a stronger support for the joiner mounted up above the end casting on tubes that would make it sturdy enough for the old style joiner and hopefully for the new wider long bed joiners Shopsmith will design. That would require yet another redesign of the headrest, but that woul...
