I got this thickness planer with the cast alum round handle used to adjust the plate. It is hard to turn, I lubed the lead screws with bo-shield a light lubricant usually used for Alum. But is still very hard the turn handle. Not sure how hard this should be. And help will be appreciated. Thanks RI...

If I recall ,,,,,,a few years ago ,,,,they were saying that radial arm saws were on their way out,,,,, because too many people were getting hurt.

That is understandable when ya are talking about the difference in brands and pattens and personal preference .

I just cant imagine for the life of me ,,,,,why ,,,,any one ,,,,would want to stick their finger into a moving saw blade just to see of the safety works!!

The veins are walnut and the leaves are actually maple.

The shopsmith scroll saw performed flawless , It could use a light though.
