Re: bandsaw stalling

The first time it stalled prior to tripping the circuit breaker. I tried inserting a wedge into the kerf thinking maybe the wood was closing up on the blade but when trying to proceed with the cut is when the circuit tripped. I switched it to a different circuit for subsequent attempts, no tripped b...

Re: bandsaw stalling

Good questions. I can't say for sure, the first time I tripped the circuit it was plugged into, that was fun, the basement lights are on the same circuit. Can't say I noticed if the power coupler or quill stopped rotating. I was wondering about the wheels as I'm assuming they're original, I'm at lea...

Hello all, I was attempting to resaw some 1 3/4 purpleheart in half for a book match and my bandsaw keeps stalling out partially through the cut. I initially tried a 6 inch wide piece and when that wasn't successful a 3 inch, same results. It's a relatively new 1/2 blade, 4 teeth/inch and tensioned ...

Re: Long 45 cut on large piece conundrum

I don't have first hand experience with this method, thought about it after making myself nervous on my last long beveled rip, but what about a straight rip and then using a 45 degree router bit to create the miter?

Re: overhead or under table routing?

Thank you. Your thread is what convinced me to buy the OPR when I saw one listed on craigslist a few years ago. I picked up the Jessem fence, but haven't made the other modifications yet.

overhead or under table routing?

I have a standalone OPR, the one with the option for a traditional under table router. I've mostly use the overhead position as a mortiser of sorts and have done some very limited pinrouting, bat templates for a bat house. Anyhow, I am getting ready to make some Adirondack chairs and anticipating so...

Re: A channel to watch to learn for beginners?

I've recently started watching Epic Woodworking's shopnight live. It's not as edited and concise as some other channels, but it's a wealth of knowledge and his love of teaching the craft shows. https://www.youtube.com/c/Epicwoodworking
