The QWSO is beautiful wood, had some challenges with tearout (shopsmith planer and hand planes) but I now know how to use a card scraper and will be sharpening everything up before the next project. The Dust Cobra works pretty good, excellent co...

Thank you! The wood is Quarter Sawn White Oak. The heart covering the swing mechanism is Purple Heart leftover from a cutting board project.

I want to say thank you for both John's doll cradle inspiration and the assistance I got from this forum in getting my planer back up and running. It's not perfect, but don't think my new-born niece will notice and I learned a lot

Re: pro-planer issue
Thank you! Apparently I have the SS mounted version on a power stand. That would explain why the pro-planer belt didn't fit.

Re: pro-planer issue
Well.. I received a new key, but it won't stay in place. Best I can tell, the set screw isn't seating deep enough to lock the key in place. Re: pro-planer issue
Thanks, I ordered one from Shopsmith this morning.
It was my first time calling rather than ordering online. What a pleasant surprise to get someone on the phone who knows the product rather than getting a random person in a call center.
