Re: Gallery of Restorations

Old meets new! That's one heck of a capable machine! Very nice work. It was a really fun project. It started with a business trip to the Dayton area, when I took the opportunity to reach out to the Shopsmith team and was invited in to see the factory. Met some of the very nice key contributors ther...

Re: Gallery of Restorations

Hi John, beautiful work. I got a 10ER from you a year or so ago. Is that the Greenie you had back then? I was impressed then with paint work you had done, like to find out how to do that some day. Great stuff, hope to see you again some time. I remember that, Ed! And, yes, that's the greenie I had ...

Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!

How about just attaching the mp3 files rather than the drop box route? JPG - Each files is pretty large (14MB), as they're about 10 minutes of straight material each (basically, each side of the record is one big "song"), so I don't know if there is a place I can upload this to the Forums...

Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!

Dave - thanks for joining the discussion, and I appreciate the feedback on the items I’ve shown so far. I too have always been fascinated with the variety of items Magna produced as accessories and in support of the sale of the machines - and just how many of those have survived the years! Come back...

Re: Gallery of Restorations

Here's my 1954 Mark 5 (SN. 263705) with a full restoration and PowerPro upgrade. I have some of the period-specific SPTs similarly restored (bandsaw, jointer, sprayer) with a couple others expected to be completed this year (jigsaw, belt sander). Not a bad color match for the 1954 brochure! IMG_6202...

Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!

No takers on sharing yet, eh? Well, let me try another one... I don't have exact provenance on this item, but it's a lenticular "motion button" that appears to have been made as a promotional item to be worn by retailers to support their efforts to encourage prospective buyers to seek demo...

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'

I think it’s one of these from the late 1950s Magna-Line catalog.

Share your Magna memorabilia!

In addition to restoring and using old Shopsmith tools, I've also enjoyed collecting Magna/Yuba-era memorabilia - complete-in-box accessories, documentation, marketing materials, books, magazines, retailer items, etc. Unfortunately, no one in my family shares my enthusiasm for this collection, so th...

Re: For those who have sought a wellness check on me

Everett - great to hear you’re still keeping an eye on the goings on here. I’ve been trying to reconnect with you of late, as I’ve gotten more serious about organizing my collection of Shopsmith memorabilia (pics show SOME of it…) and documents, and I’m trying to figure out if there might be any eff...
