Re: I have a friend (with a SS Mark V)
CreekWood, Welcome to the forum. While I don't need another, I do often look at local postings to see if they appear to be good deals. My general estimates are $200-400 for a 500, $400-600 for a 510, $500-800 for a 520, (I don't think I've seen a PowerPro for sale around the OKC area) depending on a...

Re: Need Advice: Inherited Shopsmith ER
Christian, Welcome to the forum. Your machine has to be the cleanest unrestored 10-series I've seen pictures of. If you haven't already, put some paste wax on those tubes to help keep them from getting rust. I'm not 10ER knowledgeable, but I see you have the desirable speed changer on your machine. ...

Re: Anyone have experience milling Aluminum / Copper with their SS?
Pete,
That's a nice little sled, looks like it does the job well.
With the setup at the maker space, I'm not sure if you're ahead of trying to mill on the Shopsmith or not, LOL. I understand that some copper, depending on the alloy, can be a bit difficult to mill, but I don't know in what ways.

Re: Anyone have experience milling Aluminum / Copper with their SS?
I assume that you know that you can cut the aluminum and maybe copper to length with a carbide saw blade. I'd definitely recommend using a sled and having both sides of the material clamped down when doing so. It might be a bit better using a miter saw, if you have one, again, though, clamp both sid...

Re: Small Pieces - Kickback
Dino, One addendum to JPG's suggestion. If you do remove the upper guard, make sure you use a riving knife in place of the guard to help reduce the likelihood of a kickback. While you probably wouldn't experience kickback in your scenarios above without a riving knife due to the small size, it would...

Perfect for the hoarder wannabe. Not 1, 2, 3, or even 4 Shopsmiths, but 5, count them 5! 2 ERs, 2 Goldies, 1 510, plus accessories. I think the listed price is a fake placeholder. Wichita KS area.

Re: battery powered lawn mower
I bought an eGo push mower a few summers ago when my gas mower refused to start and I didn't want to deal with trying to figure out where I could get it repaired (and I'm long past having the patience to try the repair myself). It is far better than any gas push mower that I've owned or used. It has...
