Re: What have you purchased from Shopsmith recently?

A set of dust covers for all my SS possessions, but that was nearly three years ago. Before that it was a pair of 520 upgrade kits in 2018.

Re: Heritical Table Saw Question

Chris, your shop is an absolute inspiration! Would you consider giving us a virtual tour sometime? I have thought about posting one, but this basement shop is a new build I started in 2021. I think I now finally have the workflow and tool layout where I want it. I still have a few more tweaks befor...

Re: Heritical Table Saw Question

Hey Chris, I see a trad bench and a collection of hand planes in the background of your shop. Cool! So if you were to add a router wing into the combination, which side would you put it on? Would your fence get double duty (would you have to build out some kind of split fence to accommodate the rou...

Re: Heritical Table Saw Question

You wouldn't be the first person to build out a small saw. I went the other direction and then came back. I had a Ryobi BT3000 saw with a wide table and a large outfeed with a router built into the wide table kit. I sold that, my crappy bandsaw and drill press and bought a Mark V with a bandsaw and ...

Re: Long 45 cut on large piece conundrum

This might be overkill if this is a one time project, but it's an excuse to buy another tool. Pick up a 10" radial arm saw from Craigslist. You can set up tables or roller stands around it as necessary and it should be able to rip to the middle of a door up to 48". Around here, there are ...

I check in nearly every day and rarely see anything objectionable so you are clearly on top of it. Thank you for performing this thankless job.

Oops, I did it again!

3 hours after it was posted on Craigslist, it was in my trailer for $200. This is my first ER and it looks like the serial number is 40938, but I'm going off a photo because it is still in the trailer. This is SS #3 for me. 00d0d_bQ6J2TM0KOQ_0CI0t2_1200x900.jpeg 00L0L_fY8H3bTqTRe_0CI0yY_1200x900.jpe...
