Re: US Government is About to Change Table Saws FOREVER!

Frankly I think the presently patented detection system should be reexamined. I think the patent was flawed. The method used is like being able to patent a door opening as method of entry detection. It is the nature of electronics that this detection method is using not an invention. In my opinion t...

Re: Why the name “Mark”?

The original name was intended to be bark as in wood bark but the guy that phoned in orders for the stencils had a lisp hence “mark” was born. 😂

Re: DeWalt Radial Arm Saw vs Shopsmith

I really do not care what others say I believe a blade you can see at all times is safer than a blade you can not always see. If you see it you can keep your hands out of it path. If you can not see it there is a chance you can put your hands in danger. Now I am sure people will disagree citing kick...

Re: Heritical Table Saw Question

This question may get me banished from the ShopSmith community , but... Be careful what you wish for...I should know!!! Going back to lurker only mode again now since most of the forum doesn't want me here. Why do you say the forum does not want you here? I have always enjoyed your comments. Perhap...

Re: Heritical Table Saw Question

Saw smith is anything but accurate! The blade/slide unit wiggles at least a 1/8 and inch from what I remember. That memory is about 35 years old. I looked the saw considered buying it ( I was up to my neck in Shopsmith stuff at the time) but walked away as I concluded I could do a more accurate job ...

Re: WHERE Y'ALL AT???

I know we are most concerned about wood working but if things do not change this nation is going to have a serious problem. As mentioned in the woodbrew video a major problem is after you get kids interested in the trades there is no one to teach them. He gave a statistic that the average age of tra...

Re: WHERE Y'ALL AT???

Like Dusty I am still here but most of the subjects in many posts have been very mundane. Since I refuse to support FB I am not on there nor any of todays “social media” type venues. There is a YouTube channel Woodbrew where a young fellow and his wife do woodworking. In yesterday’s video he discuss...

Re: Shopsmith purchasing advice

My experience in lathe turning the most used tools are lathe, drill press and band saw. In DIY home repair the most used tools are 90% powered hand tools. In craftsman style woodworking Tablesaw, hand tools, router, bandsaw A tablesaw is nice but requires a huge amount of space both for the saw but ...
