Re: Battery powered "shop vacs"

Store had zero to look at so I did the logical thing and ordered one. Should be here tomorrow. I also ordered the Dewalt battery adapter and it too will be here tomorrow. Sorry the changer and battery from Ridged was a step to far at this point in time. Will report back after I actually use it and s...

Re: Electrical issue, no neutral wire for Kasa

Let me address the problem with other switches that don't require the neutral wire, they are either of two name brands(that I know of) and would require the addition of a controller/interface module to work with Alexa. Also yet another app to interface with and if controlling from off premises the u...

Battery powered "shop vacs"

Many many moons ago we had a "dustbuster" battery vac that was interesting for its time but frankly fell short of lots of levels. Since then we have been strictly plug in. Another chapter in our lives and we are thinking that a small, say 2 to 3 gallon battery unit would help out around he...

Electrical issue, no neutral wire for Kasa

So I have a hall way light with switches on each end. Right now I have X10 switches but doing away with X10 in favor of Alexa and Kasa. House was built around 1980, so "standards" of that era wiring wise. The "main" box has line and travels 1 & 2 but no neutral. The satellite...

Re: How is it used???

Just bolts on and gives you a larger surface to work on. Nothing more.

Re: A few things you might want for yourself

Edited: to fix poor pictures This is more of a nice thing to have rather then a necessity. My Festool CT26 has a control to change air flow on the machine. For things like sanding you want the control set to minimum air flow, and for things like the track saw or routing operations high air flow is b...

Re: Drill height from table top

Are you doing horizontal drilling?

If so think do I have to have the main table to work on? If not then a platform on the tubes or carriage will give you a lot more height.

Re: Shorty

When I built my version I took out 16" or 1/3 of the length. This provides a functional shopsmith abet shorter version. Almost anything the full size one can do can be done on it. Yes the lathe is short, drill press is shorter etc. Yes is is not as compact as could be but does save some space. ...

Re: What’s Your Shopsmith Connection?

I grew up with a woodshop in our basement and even had a thriving birdhouse business in my very early years. We even had a combo tool, tilting table table saw and jointer with single motor. The motor was a dual shaft and you put the belt on the machine you wanted to use or you could leave them both ...

Re: Never realized I needed a bandsaw...

A band saw was one of the early additions to my tool collection (early 1970's). Since I didn't own a shopsmith at the time I went with another brand. In fact I did not add a shopsmith bandsaw until I set up a second shop in the UP of MI. I got a shopsmith to use there and the thing I really missed w...
