Re: Noisy quill?
My problem is the noise gets loud with the disk sander on it and it didn’t have that noise years ago. Should I attempt to record it and post here? Unfortunately, the forum does not allow video or audio files as direct attachments. Others have posted videos to YouTube and provided a link. I have use...

Re: New shopsmith owner, needs advice
If the start switch is stuck closed, then be very careful not to let it run too long. Be thankful your breaker IS tripping. Last year I had to clean out my motor when it only hummed when trying to start, and I re-formed the contact arms too much such they were unable to disengage properly, and then ...

Re: Pro Planer Table not level problems
For the table creeping down, I take that to mean that too deep of a cut is being attempted and the extra pressure is causing the table to self-lower. The solution of going from greater to lesser is not worded very well, and yes, that is the correct way to plane. Mine is manual feed, so it is hard fo...

Re: Pro Planer Table not level problems
The Trouble Shooting portion of the Planer Owner's Manual says if your boards are tapered side to side, then the Pressure Rollers may need to be adjusted. From what you have already done, it sounds like you have the Owner's Manual, but if not, there is one available on Everett Davis' My Google Drive...

Re: Aligning the Main Table
First, what model do you have? My answer is based on a Mark V 500. If by angling you are referring to tilting the table left or right, I think it should move freely both ways. However, getting the nut loose enough to do that is necessary first. On my 500 Mark V, the handle for loosening that nut is ...

Re: What’s a fair price to ask for my 10E shopsmith?
While selling equipment is not allowed on this site out of respect for the sponsor who sells new equipment, I can offer some general comments and suggestions. Most sales for an entire machine are done using Craigslist or FBMarketplace (so I understand ... I don't use Facebook). Check your local list...

Re: Questions About Plumbing O Rings
Thanks to all who have replied and offered suggestions.
The faucet has managed to stop leaking, on its own, so if it ain't broke, I'm not going to try to fix it (for now).
I have new O rings to try in case the leak(s) re-appear.

Re: Is there still a market for used Shopsmith Mark V?
Yes, I think there is a market, providing it is reasonably priced. With Craigslist (which I regularly check), you never know for what items actually sell. I too see ads that stay up for long periods of time, and there are probably many reasons. Some sellers just forget to take ads down when their it...
