HOW DID I EVER SURVIVE ???? When I was growng up all window sills were covered with paint that contained lead. I played with Erector sets with 100's of small nuts and bolts and metal "I" beams some of which had sharp edges. Tinker toys with the small sticks which sometimes broke and left s...

DK There are two shafts on the left side of the headstock. When the machine bogs down does just one of the shafts slow down or both of them? If only the top one slows down then you may have a poly V belt problem. In actuality there two moveable sheaves one on the motor shaft and one on the eccentric...

That shaft and the drive sleeve and the splined end of the quill are all connected together until the quill is removed. The only way that I can think ...

Hi; I have replaced the bearing in a live center once. If you invert the bearing with the point of the center facing down and support the outer shell of the bearing with small pieces of hardwood you can press the point out of the bearing using a small bench mounted drill press. Make sure that the ta...

Hi;
Try New Yankee Workshop and look in the archive section and I believe that there may be two or three in there for roll around tool stands. Also Wood Magazine published some. Woodmagazine.com may have them online.

Earlier today I read a post that contained a link to another site for Shopsmith.The site contained descriptions of the various SS models as well as current pricing and very good descriptions of the SPT's and some thoughtful critiques. However I was distracted (which is not difficult ) and I fogot to...
