Re: Long Cross Cut / Squaring Question

Re: Those irksome cut-offs-what to do !
Yes-thanks for the comments. The images don't do the setup justice. With the conical disc you need to have the table tilted at 4 degrees to match the disk surface. That was true during use, but i was already taking it apart when i got around to pics. Heres some more info based on comments above. Her...

Re: Long Cross Cut / Squaring Question
I still say the video I posted deserves a look. By bolting the guide to the bottom of the board you shorten the distance between blade and "faux" fence, much reducing the possibility of kickback as the lever arm is much shorter-which seems to be what much of this discussion is concerned wi...

Hmm..well, with the sticks mounted on that jig...you'd slide along the fence sanding away 1 face of each stick.
Then, turn all the sticks 90 degrees and do again. finally, step the fence slightly closer and finish the other 2 faces.
Am i thinking about it wrong?

Re: Rocking Chairs
Great they all got good use !
I dislike working the pressure treated stuff in the shop...the sawdust smell is weird and the fact that they tell you not to use it near a vegetable garden makes me think whatever they put in it, shouldnt be in you ..ingested, inhaled, impaled or otherwise.

That 1/16 lip might provide a guide to run along the outside table edge..though it seems a bit thin. You could add a straight edge
on the bottom of your board and use the table itself as the guide.

Those irksome cut-offs-what to do !
I mentioned sometime ago that I am accumulating boxes of scrap wood cutoffs faster than I am accumulating finished products. Well-after pondering what to do beside burning in the firepit, I hit on a simple project to make something kind of useful out of those spent pieces. In general, I wanted to : ...

Re: Kreg jig dust collection
They do make a mess don't they ? I have this Massca one which I like-though not keen on the drill bit it came with. It has a dustport which you can flip to point left or right. https://masscaproducts.com/products/massca-hole-jig-system-set-adjustable-easy-to-use-joinery-woodworking-tool-w-drill-bit-...

Re: Today in the shop "Take two on door trim"
Do you like that Dewalt palm/trim router? I've been thinking about a battery router for awhile. My drills/drivers are on the Dewalt system, so been considering sticking to Dewalt to minimize battery clutter..but the Dewalt is quite expensive compared to others.
