Re: PowerPro Headstock Upgrade

As I recall the video, only the last few minutes would be useful. When he is balancing the belt tension he explains running the headstock at various speeds. I don't have a SS Planer, but I don't understand that FB instruction and suggest caution. As I understand the mounted planer has always gone o...

Re: PowerPro Headstock Upgrade

There is a DVD called DIY Powerpro upgrade and a text manual for the upgrade. The DVD contains the video here which is available on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCLkH6T1uQE b THANKS Yeah, I looked at that some time ago. I guess I will review it and see what it says. FYI, I bought the ne...

PowerPro Headstock Upgrade

Is there any documentation that comes with the PowerPro upgrade? The only thing I can find here a MarkVII Summary manual. It mainly talks about the machine setup and basic operation of the headstock. I found out on FB that the planner mounts on the RIGHT side and the headstock runs in reverse for pr...

I don't know. It's on the SS home page under pricing. I just viewed it earlier today before I wrote this message.

Questions about Power Pro

I watched the video about the upgrading to a Power Pro and it talks about 4 ways to upgrade, 1 NEW unit, 2 refurnished unit, 3 send yours in for conversion, 4 do it yourself. Yet they only give pricing for NEW unit and DIY conversion. Are there 4 options or only 2? Does someone associated with SS mo...

Holding pepper grinders

I'm having a hard time trying to figure the best way to hold the mill body after drilling the holes. I've tried a Nylon dowel and turned it to the 1 5/8" for the bottom end of the grinder, but I can't get it to go straight again after removal and then mounting it again. I know this sounds confu...

Tail Stock

Seems like I have a problem but don't know the how or why to the answers. Seems like when I drilling on the lathe with a chuck installed on the headstock and a MT2 drill chuck in the tailstock that there is some flex of upward movement. Not bad drilling pen blanks but today I was drilling the cap fo...

Upper Bandsaw Wheel

It seems I've developed a squeal that appears to be from the upper wheel. My s/n is 101875 from the late 80's. Can the bushing be lubed or is the only way is to replace the wheel assembly? According to the s/n, it should have ball bearing for the guides and I have read that the old bushing type made ...
