Well, I have my wife :) and Christmas day is our anniversary. We don't need anything else. It doesn't get any better than this.

Re: Noisy Bandsaw

Thats about right Dusty, sounds like my stand alone one, and nephews SPT one, minus the sound of the greenie running it which is pretty quit. I agree, that is about what my stand alone sounds like. I think my 14" Powermatic is about the same but I will have to go to the shop and check. Not ton...

Re: Scroll saw "tune up" the app

OK then it does have the slot! I couldn't see that or didn't see that when I was looking at the images before. That means that it works pretty much like the saw I have except the area is just cut in the table rather then an insert. It also makes sense, so the foot goes up pretty high and then you c...

Re: Scroll saw "tune up" the app

Combination of two things. One the end of the saw is against a steel shelf which amplifies the sound and the powerpro trying to stabilize at low rpms with the scroll saws uneven load. If you move the saw away from the shelving it is pretty hard to hear and as you up the rpm the powerpro stops the h...

Re: Band saw dust port

In this post I took a lot of the suggestions that had been made for improving the old cast iron bandsaw and grouped them together and did them. This included adding a window, a hole for the wrench and a dust port. You can find this and a lot of other pieces of information here: http://www.shopsmith...

Re: Scroll saw "tune up" the app

Ed, Glad you got the scroll fixed. :) As far as blade tension I don't know. My wife is the scroll sawyer. She has a Teal stand alone. That should not have anything to do with the tension on the blade. No mater the brand, tension is tension. When my wife has cutting problems she addusts the tension....

Re: Band saw dust port

I modified my BS cover when SS first came out with the window. I cut a rectangular hole and glued a piece of Plexiglas on the inside. I don't have any issue with dust buildup on the window. I wonder why some do and some don't.

Re: Stand alone Bandsaw

So a while back I picked up a shopsmith jointer with stand for $100. It has the mounting stand and SS power switch, and works fine for my jointer, however I could really use a Stand alone bandsaw instead of a stand alone jointer. The motor is 1/2 hp @ 1725 rpm. Do you think it would work as a bands...
