Re: 2 Stage Drum Sander
I blatantly ripped off sehast's idea and bulit the same thing with a 30" kit from Stockroom Supply. The two stage version from Stumpy looks like a nice upgrade but overkill for my needs. My only concern with it would be the amount of space you would have between the way tubes and the bottom of ...

Re: Just got my first Shopsmith had a couple questions
Oh, I thought maybe it was for using the router. I will try and find the right one. The part I need to make for my window sash is the tongue side of the tongue and groove. I got pretty far off track with this post, but what is the best way to make it. Is it better to use the Moulder or shaper attac...

The table with the black lever on it in picture rsz_20180608_053548.jpg is an extention table from a Ryobi BT3000 table saw.

Re: Older SS Stacked Dado Set
I have the same set. If the paper shims do not give you enough adjustment, Shopsmith sell a set of shims that will give you increased ability to adjust your cut. You can also make more paper shims. Okay - thanks for the tip. Sounds like some trial and error on scrap to get the width just right. The...

Re: Difference between the Incra and shopsmith cross cut
Many of you know the Wood Whisper and his work. I was surprised when he said in last weeks video that he now prefers the Incra 5000 over anything on the market or that he manufactured. His reasoning was the Incra 5000 was easy to adjust and easy to keep into adjustment. I think the Incra Miter expr...

Re: Difference between the Incra and shopsmith cross cut
I just checked and sled dropoff sits flat on the SS table AFTER the set screws are tightened. Here's a photo of it with the set screws tightened. $matches[2] On the bottom of the table, there is a t-track style miter bar that has wedges in it that spread the bar to lock it in place much like the SS ...

Re: Difference between the Incra and shopsmith cross cut
I have the Incra miter 5000 which has the same configuration for the drop sled, but uses an Incra miter gauge rather than adapting the SS miter gauge. I'll take a look, but I've never had any issues with the drop sled. The sled is 1/2" thick melamine coated MDF. I'll put a calipter to it tonigh...

You could also leave a gap between a couple of the cabinets for the bandsaw to fit into

Re: Bosch Measuring Tool
I have a "similar" Crafstman model which has lasted a long time both is otherwise disappointing. It is accurate +- 1/2 inch and has a range of up to 32' anything over 16' though and it dispays the actual measurment - 16' so 20'4" becomes 4'4" It meets my needs for floor plan layo...
