Re: Shaper Origin
Chris, I don't need to finish my evaluation to answer your question. If you are a Shaper Origin user and have not already learned Sketch-up then you should definitely start learning Fusion 360. Shaper Tools has a Fusion plugin that is guaranteed to produce the SVG files required. The Sketch-up plug...

Re: Shaper Origin
Why might I want/need Fusion 360 when I have Sketchup? I have been a Sketch-up user for years but have been introduced to Fusion 360 due to the Shaper Origin connection. It is free so I downloaded it and currently doing a thorough evaluation. I will post a review soon to hopefully answer your quest...

Re: Adjustable Precision Setup Blocks for use with the rip fence.
I used to have a set of setup blocks that I used for face frame parts and door rail and stile ripping, and they were quite usefull to easily set the fence for specific parts. but upgraded to the Incra TSLS and tossed them. I picked 2-3 inches based on that but I had 25 - 125 in 5mm increments. My sh...

Re: Shaper Origin
I got an email today from Shaper saying they have decided to ship the Shaper Origin standard with a Tanos Systainer®. Nice!!! Now I need to build more storage for my systainers (two of them are already on the floor in my shop with no home) in addition to learning Sketchup. I've been waiting nearly ...

Re: Do You Have This Proplem
The woman who delivered the newspaper between 4:30 and 5:00 every morning would leave a treat for Frank the dog so he wouldn't bark at her. As soon as she left though, Frank was pawing at my head to let him out to get the treat.
I couldn't imagine life without the morning paper or the dog.

Re: Shaper Origin
Chris, that means you should have it in a few weeks. Let us know how you like it after you put it through some test runs. I am already thinking about the kind of jigs I need to make for it to do more than just break down plywood sheets. According to the last email I received from them, I'm expectin...

Re: What do you get in a cheap guided saw?
I clearly need to spend some more time in the tool section on my trips to Menards. This looks l;ike it could be a nice addition to the shop. I have an older Festool TS-75 track saw that doesn't have the dual scales. It's also metric so first I need to convert 3/4 inch plywood to 19mm and then add 5m...

Re: garden thread
My wife uses offcuts from the shop, usually maple or oak. When I rip down parts for cabinet face frames I usually end up with sticks 3/4 x 1/2 to 1" and up to 8 feet long. They last a couple of years and then she comes back to the shop for more.
