A detective job for Saturday

While in the midst of a rip cut in 3/8 pine, my MK V up and quit. Just like the switch was turned off. Checked power from the outlet. All good. I suspect a loose wire internally. Hoping a visual inspection reveals the cause because my diagnostic tools are still packed away...in one box or another.

I've been quite satisfied with the Harbor Freight vertical or horizontal toggle clamps. At $5.00 a pop, they're a good buy compared to the $17.00 Destacos.

Re: Jointech help..PLEASE

Thanks Dusty and, Ed. The pictures I found with a forum search are a great help. The manual will be invaluable, too.

Jointech help..PLEASE

When we packed up the shop to move to Tucson, I had to disassemble the Jointech Saw Train and router table that was mounted on my MK V. My original assembly manual is long gone and, I failed to get any pictures of it beforehand. Now, 10 months later, I'm about ready to reassemble it and, now my 80 y...

Re: Ahhhhh.....retirement! RV purchase time.

Well, without some major alterations to the Expedition, my suggestion is worthless. We've owned a tow behind, a self contained and a fifth wheel. By far, the fifth wheel was the winner. Far easier to tow and maneuver than the tow behind. And, unless you tow another vehicle behind a self contained un...

Re: What outage?

Thanks, Dusty. I wanted to search the forum for a solution to a minor problem. But, I finally figured it out on my own. Kinda like the old days. It felt good.

Re: Best track saw ?

I embedded an 8' length of T track in plywood and, attached a short piece of the corresponding insert to my Skil 77. Works great for sheet goods as well as lumber. Can't break it down so, it's a bit cumbersome to store. But it's accurate and cheap.

Re: Metric Rulers???

I tend to approach woodworking like a manufacturing process. But others enjoy hand-fitting parts, and/or have learned techniques that let them make perfectly-fitting assemblies without ever taking an absolute measurement. I'd like to become proficient at the latter myself. [/quote] I don't consider ...

For me, it's six decades and a piece. 62 years in June of 2021.
