Re: A neat way to easily add a ZCI

I don't think its intended for table saws. It is advertised for miter saws. It's 0.020" thick. It is for miter/RAS saws, where you move the blade across the wood, not viseversa. The only way I could see it working on a table saw would be to apply that same 0.020" tape across the width of t...

The easy way is to just pick up another SS that has a disc with it. :D

Yea, there's still at least a double layer of cardboard before it could pierce the outside of the box. Other alternatives for shipping purposes, would have been to use a rubber vacuum cap over the stud that would fit snug and not fall off. Or use a "threaded" nylon spacer. But hey, back se...

I just opened mine to see. Haven't had the chance to try it out yet. Here's the way I found the spacer in question. Turns out Mike is right about it protecting the threaded shaft.

Hi! Sorry to hear about your problem. Until someone chimes in with more experience with actual motor problems, make sure you can turn the machine by hand. Mount the sanding disc if necessary to make it easier to turn. If something was seizing up, I would think you would have heard unusual noises. Bu...

I also needed to install a lockset on my Mom's computer room door( to keep Grandkids out ) many years ago. I also went to "bLowes" and found this http://www.irwin.com/tools/linear-edge/wood-door-lock-installation-kits# . It worked very well for the intended purpose. Irwin makes decent stuff.

I'm a little late to the party :( I searched some of my teardown archives and came up with these. Not a big deal to take apart, just double nut the trunnion threaded end, hold the inner nut with a wrench, use the SS allen on the knob and it comes apart easily enough. BTW have you seen MickyD's model 10 thread? Yes I have and it is a beautiful piece of eye candy for SS owners. Very nice to look at and marvel at the old technology, but.... To bring in the "car" analogy, drive a 1920's car and then drive a new late model car, world of difference in drive...
