Re: My Growth Rings with Scott Markwood

Russ, thanks for background on the last availability of the GWG. I'll have to keep checking the used market and maybe I'll find one.

Re: My Growth Rings with Scott Markwood

I no longer have a bench grinder but occasionally need the use of one. The GWG would be a good option for me and what I need. I did look on Ebay and also Shopsmith's website, but no luck there. Maybe I missed it in the video, but how long has it been since SS stopped selling these? Nice video, Scott...

Re: Floating Router Table

Big Al,

Thanks for posting the pics. I've been thinking about how I will add a router table to my 510 and what you've done has given me some good ideas.

Re: battery powered lawn mower

Ed, we use a Ryobi string trimmer and a leaf blower, and both have been good performers for our fairly small yard. One advantage is the easy availability of the 18 v batteries and also the fairly long life of all the batteries we have. Even though this isn't what you were asking about, I mention it ...

Re: Comments?

80spiders I know you're past all this, but I had an observation to pass on after working in the shop today. I was moving all my boxes around and cleaning up and went through the empty boxes I have for my most recent tool orders (Shopsmith as well as other brands). I have ordered five separate items ...

Re: What’s Your Shopsmith Connection?

I think the first time I saw a Shopsmith was either 1990 or early 1991. We were doing a job in Alexandria VA and the customer had this strange looking power tool in the garage. I asked one of the other guys "what is that thing?" He said "Oh, it's an all-in-one tool called Shopsmith. I...

Empty box for Shopsmith bandsaw

I'm sure this is unlikely that anyone who is close would also have a need for this, but just in case..... :) I have an empty box that was used for a Shopsmith bandsaw. It's in perfect condition and available if anyone close by has the need to store or ship their bandsaw. There are remnants of the ex...

Re: 1950 census.archives.gov

I was able to find my paternal great-grandparents, in the same house in suburban Kansas City, KS where I visited as a kid in the mid-70's. Even though I have a unique last name, that should show up in the search function, I haven't been able to find any other family members. Thanks for posting this ...

Re: Stanton Dog Locks

Ed, Steve,

If you're interested in the scoring cut technique, go to about the 8:45 mark in this video and you'll see Boris Beaulant (France) using the track saw to cut thru veneers to prep of inlays.
