Re: Model 10E for sale

I forgot to mention before there is a person near you who buys Shopsmiths to disassemble and sell the parts on eBay. If you wish to keep it as a complete working unit you will want to sell it to someone looking to restore or use it as is. Your other option as Dick is speaking to would be to keep it...

Shopsmith 10E Shaper Fence?

Anyone have any idea what this is? S/N 1921 on Craigslist in Texas. Certainly looks like a shaper fence as advertised. But it doesn't look like any Shopsmith Shaper Fence I have ever seen. Here is the ad:

Your machine was made in 1948. In late 1947 Montgomery Wards purchased 250 Shopsmiths for sale on the west coast. Sales were so good that they placed another order for 1,000 machines. Yours is in that range.
I'm not saying your machine was sold by Montgomery Ward. But it could of been.

Re: Facebook Shopsmith Sites

First, thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, I will not be going there. This forum is about as close as I am ever going to get (again) to social media. I really regret that Shopsmith has not chosen to utilize this forum as a portal into that sort of data. That said, I did find this (that apparent...

Re: Model 10ER speed changer disassembly

Why do you want to remove it? I had mine all apart and did a repair but didn't feel a need to remove the axle. It seemed very solidly attached. This is a thread I posted when I repaired mine. http://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/viewtopic.php?p=232471 On the third page of that thread, however, Chapman...

Other than a drawing on the front cover of the Mark 5, their is nothing specific within the Shavings on either model.

Re: Shopsmith Tie Clip

Starting with no.4 the name was changed to Shopsmith Shavings, no. 10 is the last that I know of. http://vintagemachinery.org/mfgIndex/detail.aspx?id=338&tab=3 Ron, That is a great link. Thanks for sharing it. I have a copy of a Shopsmith Shavings New Owners Edition that I suppose was provided ...

Re: Shopsmith Tie Clip

Scanning copies of ShopMag I ran across this: Shopsmith_TieClip.jpg My question is has anybody ever seen one? Or possibly own one? The other question is how many issues of ShopMag were published. I have the first three. Starting with no.4 the name was changed to Shopsmith Shavings, no. 10 is the la...
